The aeronautical duo of the space shuttle Atlantis riding a top a modified Boeing 747-200 jet are cruising at 15,000 feet as they travel from El Paso, Texas to San Antonio's Lackland, AFB this morning.The 747 is scheduled to land at Lackland, AFB at about 10:15 am EDT, for fuel and to allow the several Kennedy Space Center technicians to grab lunch.
It is unknown as to the times of the cross country trip following the brief San Antonio lay over. The duo are likely to travel as far as Mississippi today. Updates via Twitter [ @spacelaunchnews] and here on Up to the Minute.
