Station Crew awakes; Shuttle Nears Docking

The three person crew of the international space station were just awoken to begin a busy day in space. The trio were awoken at 8:55 am EDT, when their alarm sounded.

Discovery's crew will be awoken at 9:43 am EDT, and prepare for the first in a series of jet firings to change and match their orbit with the space station's. The first, the terminal initiation burn will occur at 2:34 pm.

At 8:55 am, the space station was over the far western Indian Ocean.
