Hubble Rotated for Optics Changeout Today

The flight service support - the gold fixture supporting the Hubble Space Telescope was commanded by the crew moments ago to rotate the telescope 90 degrees and we captured that in these series of images from NASA-TV between 8:40 am (top) to 8:52 am EDT (bottom).

This image recorded at 8:49 am shows the reflection of Atlantis forward payload bay up to the crew cabin, and the robotic arm extended up. Astronauts John Grunsfeld and Andrew Feustel will depart Atlantis in minutes to begin the third STS-125 spacewalk, and the 21st in support of Hubble servicing since 1993.
